Knox for Philly has recently added another super-star to its intern roster for the 2006 summer season. Pat Barry, my fellow Haverford classmate, is officially on board the Knox for Philly squad and we couldn't be happier to have him. Pat is not only a fine addition to the metaphorical "Knox team" he will also prove valuable on the Knox for Philly softball team--soon to be in season. So, welcome Pat and beware rival softball teams!

Guess Who's Back?
So after two weeks of finals and then a week of relaxing at home, I'm back at Knox for Philly and things are busier than ever. There is soooo much going on! Plenty of opportunities to change grillz and check out Tom Knox and some fun things going on in Philly. I first strongly encourage everyone to check out the website for the latest scoop on what's going on, but I will mention a few things. The Penny Park Music Festival, featuring various local and some better-traveled musical groups and performers, is happening every other Wednesday from 7-9:30 beginning May 31st. Knox for Philly-sters will be hanging out with info. Also, Jesse and I are planning on throwing a house party (more like a BBQ really) later ont his summer....details soon. There will be other house parties to attend and some that Tom will be attending as well. Check out the website for this info. too. More to come soon, in the mean time....let me see those grillz!

Tom Knox needs a grill
What's good at Knox for Philly? Me and the other interns here, especially now that we know we'll be sticking around for the summer. Thanks to finding some money in the Knox for Philly budget, Doug, Jesse, and myself will be staying on the Knox for Philly team and wreaking havoc on Philadelphia on our days off. Jesse and I are also looking forward to possibly hosting a MeetUp at some point over the summer....so keep your calendars open and your grillz on hand. There will be more on that event in the future. Till then, i'll keep blogging and bling blingin' along.

Serious about Grillz?
Although I have an unhealthy obsession with grills I don't think I could ever pull one off. However, I'm sure plenty of you out there could and may be wondering "where do I get one of these things?" Your dentist may not be as helpful as you thought, but Mr. Bling is ready to fulfill all your grill desires. So, if you're serious about not just talking about grillz but living the grill life check out the website: http://www.mrbling.com/
Tom Knox in Person
I apologize for being a little remiss in my blogging duties, but you know how things get....busy, busy, busy. Speaking of busy, Tom Knox is staying very busy these days meeting with community leaders, learning about neighborhood and citywide problems, and talking with people about what he thinks are real solutions and what could be real initiatives to improve our Philadelphia. I recently, for the first time, got to see Tom doing just this a few weeks ago and I was honestly impressed. The gathering was small, 20 or so people at the office of a business friend, and Tom talked about schools and economic development and a host of other issues that he and many Philadelphians are concerned about and what he hopes to address them. I have to admit, Tom isn't exactly the best public speaker I've ever seen, but there's something truly honest and real about him that gives him a great presence that is simultaneously approachable. Since Tom is making many more appearances throughout Philly's neighborhoods in April, I would strongly encourage all of you to go check out his grill in person and please feel free to report back here....I'd love to know if I'm the only one that finds Tom so endearing.

You're gonna love these grillz

Okay, so we don't have actual grillz, but I'd still like to introduce a couple of the smiling faces here at Knox for Philly and, if you show up to the March 8th Meetup at Bonte on Walnut at 7 pm, you'll already know a couple of us there. I don't have pics of everyone yet, but I'm working on it. Please remember that we work at Knox for Philly--not a modeling agency--although it's easy to forget while checking these pics out . Here we have one of the boss men Josh Morrow (he does have legs in case you were wondering), the ever lovely Ms. Thunder, Keeper of the Interns Mr. Will Wittels behind the desk, Doug (a Mike Jones superfan), fellow Haverford student and intern Jesse (picture not recent), and myself.
Meet Knox for Philly

So it's taken a little longer than I anticipated, but I've finally got my act together so as to visually introduce you to Knox for Philly. Although the door to our office on Arch Street isn't much to look at, the view from the office looking over North Philly is pretty sweet ass. So here's a little glimpse into the world of Knox for Philly, next is introductions of cool cats that I work with.
A Gathering of Grillz
Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Bonte locate at 922 Walnut there is going to be a Meetup. It's an informal get together open to anyone interested to come and meet Mr. Tom Knox, ask him questions, and also hang out with other Philadelphians interested in playing an active role in cleaning up and turning around aspects of Philadelphia. This is a great oppurtunity to form a real opinion of Tom yourself as well as participate in open discussion about analyzing and addressing problems in Philly. I wouldn't be any place else on the 8th and I hope you all will join me.

Clearing up the Grill Issue
There's been some confusion here at Knox for Philly as to what exactly a grill is. Specifically, the "older" peeps working here don't know about the grill phenomena taking hold of America these days and it's making communication in the office very difficult. To help clarify this complex and fascinating issue, I was hoping all of ya'll would post pictures , descriptions, poems, or anything else that reveals the true power and essence of grillz. Thanks for the help.
